The main character of Summer Pockets is Hari Takahara. Summer Pockets has been set on an isolated rural and peaceful island namely Torishirojima which has a population of around 2000 people.
The main concept beyond the game is Jun Maeda who feels that the game will make the players cry. There he will get to know the townsfolk of Torishirojima as well as multiple girls which are the main focus of the story. The game is set on the fictional island namely Seta Inland Sea and follows the life of a young man who utilizes the death of his grandmother in order to escape from the island after an unpleasant incident. The game has been the 13th game in the summer pockets series along with other games in the series such as Kanon, Air, and Clannad. Summer Pockets is based on the visual novel.
